Von Trapp Brewing Tasting with Sam Von Trapp!

Von Trapp Brewing Tasting with Sam Von Trapp!

R0t--DgL

Join us in Stoneham this Friday July 24th From 4pm -7pm for a Beer tasting with Sam Von Trapp from Van Trapp brewing (Stowe VT).

It was more than a decade ago when Johannes von Trapp started thinking about starting a brewery at his family’s lodge in Stowe, Vermont. He had a dream to brew an American version of the tasty lagers he enjoyed so much during trips to the countryside near his ancestral Austrian home.

With this dream in mind, Johannes worked to start a brewery at Trapp Family Lodge. It became a reality in the spring of 2010, when von Trapp Brewery officially opened. Their brewery was originally a modest facility located in the lower level of the Lodge’s DeliBakery. They currently brew around 60,000 gallons of lager each year, with brews available year-round and seasonally. In 2015 they opened their new 40,000 sq. ft. brewery located on Luce Hill Rd. featuring a Rolec Brew House and capable of producing up to 50,000 barrels of beer annually. You can enjoy their beers at the Lodge or in multiple restaurants and bars throughout Vermont and startling this Friday at Redstone Liquors in both Andover and Stoneham MA!

GOLDEN HELLES 4.9 ABV 20 IBU

Our lightest offering, “Helles” is German for “bright.” It is golden in color, and is a crisp, easy drinking beer for all occasions, a true session lager. The spicy hop characters are a bit more subdued and in balance with hops. It is our only lager that is filtered.

BOHEMIAN PILSNER 5.4 ABV 42 IBU

The Bohemian Pilsner is light straw to golden in color. A touch of Munich malt is added to give the beer a sweet caramel finish. It is smooth and crisp with a clean malty aroma. We use Saaze and Perle hops: providing a predominant peppery bitterness and spicy floral aroma. Bitterness is on the high end, but balanced out well. We lager in cold storage for 30 days to help produce a smooth finish for this complex lager.
VIENNA STYLE LAGER 5.2 ABV 33 IBU

Named after the city in which it originated, our Vienna style lager is brewed using a decoction boiling process. Munich, Pilsner and Vienna malts are used, which add depth to its amber color. Subtle hops, crisp, with residual sweetness.
